Musica en Español

Welcome to Music through Spanish 2018

I look forward to sharing the wonderful work our Prep and Grade 1 students produce in Music this year.

In Spanish Music, students will have the opportunity to hear and try a variety of instruments from around the world, but in Prep and Grade 1 we will also be focusing on using our hands, feet and voices to produce rhythms and songs.

Prep

This term Prep students will learn about three families of musical instruments (familias de instrumentos) primarily focusing on Percussion instruments (Instrumentos de percusión). Through this, students will begin to develop Spanish music vocabulary.

Students will also learn new songs for greeting others and introducing themselves in Spanish.

Hola, Hola (Hello, Hello

Hola, Hola Hello, Hello

¿Como estas? How are you?

Year 1

This term Grade 1 students will learn to identify which instrument families (familias instrumentales) an instrument belongs to, primarily focusing on Percussion, wind and string families (Percusión, Viento y cuerda). Through this, students will begin to develop Spanish music vocabulary.

Students will also add to their Spanish songs for greeting others and introducing themselves in Spanish.
