Students in grade 2 have been learning how to sew for a few weeks now and have mastered the technique (so next time you need to patch some jeans ask the experts!) For most students this was the first time they handled an “aguja” (needle) and “hilo” (thread). We first learnt how to thread the needle, do a “nudo” (knot) at the end of our string and do a running stitch on a piece of hessian. This are some of the beautiful designs students have made:

Our next step will be to sew on our colourful paintings of crazy quilts, which when put together will emulate a patchwork quilt.
