The Night Life of Trees

[Eng] During the past two weeks students in grades 3 and 4 have been exploring this beautiful book by Bhajju Shyam, Durga Bai and Ram Singh Urveti, edited by Tara books. Quoting from the editors: "In Gond belief, trees stand in the middle of life, and the spirit of many things lie in them. They are busy all day, giving shade and support and shelter and food to all. Only when night falls can they find rest for themselves, and then, under quiet dark skies, the spirits that live in them are revealed."

Students used their knowledge on different types of lines to design their trees inspired by the book. We have been learning the Spanish vocabulary related to la noche (night) and los árboles (the trees). Have a look at some of the wonderful árboles our students made!
