El monstruo de colores
[Eng] Bienvenidos Preps! Welcome! During the first weeks of the year we have read the beautiful book "El monstruo de los colores" (The monster of colours") by Anna Llenas. The book is about a confused monster who is trying to sort his emotions by putting each colour in a jar. This week we have been learning the colours and what they make us feel:
- Amarillo is the colour of alegría (happiness)
- Azul is the colour of tristeza (sadness)
- Rojo is the colour of rabia (anger)
- Negro is the colour of miedo (fear)
- Verde is the colour of calma (tranquility)
- Rosa is the colour of amor (love)
Prep students made their monsters using oil pastels and then watercolour paints. We started experimenting with mixing amarillo, red and blue to make new colours. Watch the video to hear the story of el monstruo de colores!
[Sp] Bienvenidos Preps! Welcome! Durante las primeras semanas de arte hemos leído el bonito libro "El monstruo de colores" de Anna Llenas. El libro habla de un monstruo confundido que intenta organizar sus emociones poniendo cada color en su jarrón. Esta semana hemos estado aprendiendo los colores y las emociones que nos hacen sentir: amarillo es el color de la alegría, azul es el color de la tristeza, rojo es el color de la rabia, negro es el color del miedo. El verde es el color de la calma, y el rosa es el color del amor. Los estudiantes de prep han hecho sus monstruos usando ceras y acuarelas.
