"It's a long road we have come
and it's a long road we can go"
CONRAD RATARA, at a handing back ancestral
lands to Aboriginal people ceremony
For this year's Reconciliation week students at Westgarth have been talking about what Reconciliation week is about and how we can work together to change things up and build a world where everyone enjoys the same rights. In the art classroom all students at the school have collaborated to make a big mural which represents our will to work together in building a better world. We've had some beautiful discussions with some very powerful insights from students. We also talked about different styles of aboriginal art and some symbols that aboriginal communities use to communicate. It's been a great week! Next week we're going to display our big mural at the entrance of the school, don't forget to have a look!
