Las fuerzas: la fricción

[Sp] Los estudiantes de los grados 3 y 4 han estado explorando las fuerzas y en particular la fricción. Ésta experiencia les ha dado la oportunidad de identificar similaridades linguísitcas entre el español y el inglés, por ejemplo fricción (friction), dirección (direction), y magnitud (magnitude). Los estudiantes predicieron qué tipos de superficie tendrían más o menos fricción, y usando un tren de jugete observaron la fricción en una mesa, una moqueta, arena, agua y aceite. Después mesuraron y tomaron nota de la distancia que el tren había hecho en cada superficie. De ésta manera pusieros a la práctica su investigación.

[Eng] Students in grades 3 & 4 have been exploring the world of Forces and in particular Friction. This has given them the opportunity to identify linguistic similarities between Spanish and English, for example fricción (friction), dirección (direction), and magnitud (magnitude). Students predicted types of surfaces that would provide more or less friction and using a toy train they observed friction on a table, mat, sand, water and oil. They measured and recorded the distance the train travelled on each surface, supporting their investigation with evidence.
